Early in the morning after breakfast, depart from Arusha and drive through scenic rural landscapes, Maasai villages, and open savannah plains toward Tarangire National Park.
Tarangire is widely known for its large elephant population, iconic baobab trees, and seasonal wildlife concentration around the Tarangire River. The park offers a rich safari experience with strong chances of encountering elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeest, antelopes, and a wide variety of bird species.
The afternoon game drive focuses on exploring river valleys, open grasslands, and woodland areas where wildlife gathers in search of water and grazing. The park’s landscapes are highly photogenic, especially during sunset when golden light enhances the baobab silhouettes.
After breakfast, continue toward Lake Manyara National Park located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park is known for its lush groundwater forest, alkaline lake, and diverse wildlife habitats within a compact area.
Lake Manyara offers a very different safari experience compared to Tarangire. Wildlife includes elephants, giraffes, hippos, baboons, buffaloes, and the famous tree climbing lions. The lake itself attracts large flocks of flamingos and other water birds depending on the season, making it one of the best birdwatching destinations in northern Tanzania.
The game drive explores forest zones, lakeshore areas, and escarpment viewpoints offering panoramic scenery across the Rift Valley. This diversity makes Lake Manyara a highly dynamic safari destination despite its smaller size.
In the afternoon, begin the return journey to Arusha marking the end of the safari experience.
